What is Blogger?

Blogger logo Blogger is a service that was first started by a small company called Pyra Labs in San Fransisco back in 1999. The "dot com boom" was happening at the time, the bubble was big and everyone wanted a piece of the pie.

Then the whole web/Internet situation took a turn for the worse and quickly became the "dot com bomb" and many companies struggled to survive but Pyra and Blogger struggled and survived.

In 2002 things had levelled out and Google, being the dominant search engine, took an interest in Blogger and "liked it so much they bought the company". BTW is that a TM'd statement? If it is, Victor, just drop me a mail and I'll make sure I credit it to you ;)

And so, here we are today, with Blog being in the dictionary and Blogger being the premier tool with which to blog. Other blogging tools such as WordPress and Moveable Type do exist but my knowledge and skillset is currently limited to Blogger.
