Blogger Timeouts

PublishingThere's nothing worse than trying to publish a comment or publish a post and you get a blogger timeout. On some occasions I've lost data, a well-crafted post or a great comment. Annoying, yes.

Top tip for "being safe" in the world of blogger timeouts is to CTRL-A (select all) your comment/post in the comment window and copy & paste (CTRL-C, CTRL-V) your text into notepad. At leat your text can sit in notepad until you're sure it's been published.

Hitting the "back" button can get you back to the comment/post page but this doesn't always work, so copy all just incase.

Otherwise, especially for posting comments, patience is good. Just wait to see if the comment is actually published. If it seems your comment isn't publishing on a blog, remember that it may take a moment to show. f5 or refresh will reload the page. CTRL-f5 will also refresh too.

If you're sure your comment isn't being published then you can grab the text you posted to notepad and start again. OK, it didn't publish the first time, but least you saved your well written prose :D
