A good alternative commenting system that does use trackback is Haloscan. Blogger are accepting of the fact that they do not support trackback but also recommend Haloscan themselves.

Haloscan is NOT part of Blogger but can easily be integrated into Blogger blogs, as can be demonstrated by its immense popularity (currently approaching 250,000 users as of Easter 2005)

However, be aware that by implementing Haloscan on an existing Blogger blog you will lose all the previous comments of the blogger commenting system. So don't say you haven't been warned. If the comments are an integral part of the pedigree of your blog, then simply write to Blogger support (online form) tick the feature request and tell them you want trackback like Haloscan, WordPress and MoveableType.
