Co-op Ad Network

CHMOD 666

As of April 2005 I noticed the CHMOD (Unix CHange MODe) command was revised for the ad network text files. Previously it was CHMOD777 - Now it's CHMOD 666.

So what is CHMOD 666?

CHMOD 666 Remote file permissionsCHMOD 666 means the User, Group and Other permissions are each set to 6, 6 and 6... meaning that each has Read and Write permissions but not Execute... Hence the appropriate boxes are ticked in the WSFTP permissions dialogue box.

Upload your ad_network_ads_223.txt file to the server, then right-click on the file and select chmod (UNIX) from the drop-down.

Then you'll see the "remote file permissions" box, tick all the Read and Write boxes, as in the "Remote file permissions" box above, and hit OK. That's it.
