22i Stats

Until around 2005 we ran a white label version of a paid, premium website analytics tool and badged it up as 22i Stats. We’d also been running it on the highly popular SME information website is4profit.com for a few years.

Then we discovered Urchin Stats and Google acquired the tool in April 2005. By November f that year Urchin Stats was part of the new Google Analytics. And the rest is history. Google Analytics has been the de facto website analytics for 20 years now.

22i Stats has been long retired and we now offer installation and management of Google Analytics (GA4). We can monitor your stats in GA4, measure user behaviour, and make clever marketing decisions based upon the data. We are both data-driven and data-influenced.

Of course, other analytics tools are available and we see a lot of requirements for Adobe Analytics, particularly on enterprise-level websites.

More Tools

As well as installing, correctly setting up, monitoring, managing, and reporting from Google Analytics, we highly recommend that your website uses other digital tools that are essential for providing the data for your data-driven marketing and insights.

Stats Tools

These tools provide data that is essential in for your website statistics and help you to make data-driven decisions:

  • Google Search Console (GSC): Essential for measuring the performance of your organisation’s website before you even get visits. Absolutely vital tool this is.
  • Bing Webmaster Tools: GSC was previously called Google Webmaster Tools. This is Microsoft’s equivalent for its Bing search engine. Perfect partner to GSC.

GSC and BWT provide numerous tools within their interfaces including submitting and managing XML sitemaps, broken links, link profiles etc. These are free and easy to use, but if you need us to 100% manage these for you, we’re more than happy to do so.

Other Essential Tools

Whilst not specifically stats tools, we recommend the following:

  • Google Tag Manager (GTM): GA4 works via a tag deployed to your website(s). We install, monitor, and manage these through the essential GTM.
  • Hotjar: Provides heatmaps, showing how users scroll and click on your webpages; really helpful for Conversion Rate optimisation (CRO) work on your landing pages for PPC campaigns etc.
  • Microsoft Clarity: Similar to Hotjar, Microsoft’s Clarity works well with Microsoft Ads too.

These tools are free, with paid options, and we highly recommend these are part of your stats/tools on your website.

We can install and manage these for you.

Not Stats, But Cool Tools Nonetheless

These tools are not specifically stats tools but they’re really handy for managing websites and gaining valuable insights for digital marketing projects:

  • SEMrush: A pretty comprehensive, all-in-one digital marketing platform that offers tools for SEO, PPC, content marketing, and competitive analysis.
  • Ahrefs: Much like SEMrush but there’s a better free version, albeit with limitations.
  • Screaming Frog SEO Spider: A fast an powerful tool for conducting technical SEO work. Free and paid versions.

There are other tools available, but there’s not enough room to go into them for now, after all, you were just looking for 22i Stats which we’ve sunsetted and now rely on Google Analytics (GA4). We could mention Google Lighthouse, Google PageSpeed Insights, Moz, Majestic SEO, VWO, etc, but that can wait for a post in our design and digital marketing blog.
