If you’re having issues with installing the Elementor Pro plugin for WordPress, here’s what we did to get round the issue…
We downloaded the official elementor-pro-3.27.4.zip file from the Elementor website, but when we tried to install it we got the following message:
Installing plugin from uploaded file: elementor-pro-3.27.4.zip
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed.
No valid plugins were found.
Plugin installation failed.
Oh. Had we run out of server space? We checked and had plenty of room for a 4Mb plugin upload but we increased our disk space by another 500Mb to be safe, and tried again.
Nope. Still no joy. We got the same error message and not enough details in that response to really understand what was going on. It was really frustrating.
So then we extracted the Elementor Pro plugin zip file to a local folder and FTP’d it and all its constituent files up to the server using FileZilla.
That didn’t work so we deleted the folder and all its files and tried again.
We downloaded the zip file from Elementor a second time, went through the plugin upload process in WordPress again and… voila! No error messages, only success!
Finally.
So if you get the same issues installing Elementor Pro for WordPress, just delete your first zip file, download another one from the Elementor website, upload and install it again.
